I spent this Fall Break at my camp in Woodville, Mississippi. After the Episcopal football game at Northeast High School, I went straight to Woodville, MS from Pride, LA. It took us about an hour to get there and we arrived at around 12:00. I told everyone hello and went straight to bed. I was ready to hunt in the morning.
I woke up at 6:00 the next morning and went hunting. My dad and I walked up on 4 does in my field and scared them away. I didn't see anything for the rest of the hunt. That afternoon, I went hunting in the same field. My dad and I had set out corn before we went out that day and we put the corn out pretty close to our stand. The first four deer came out there were three fawns and a doe. I kept hearing rustling in the woods and I thought it was a buck, so I waited and the deer ran away.
Then, the same deer ended up coming back 30 minutes later for about 10 minutes and ran away again. Then, a doe came by itself. It was 20 yards away. I took a deep breath and squeezed the trigger. I had killed my first deer with my crossbow.
